Christine Monnox has practised in commercial litigation for 11
years. She is experienced in a wide variety of commercial
litigation matters across a number of different jurisdictions,
ranging from small scale claims to major commercial litigation and
class actions.
In her work she has addressed a diverse range of legal issues
within the fields of corporations law, trade practices, insolvency,
banking litigation, auditors' negligence, directors' duties,
directors' and officers' insurance law, contract law and
professional negligence.
Christine has acted for a number of significant clients
including:
- one of the leading international cinema operators in a large
restrictive trade practices matter in the Federal Court; and
- a major international construction company based in Germany in
a large scale matter in the Federal Court involving alleged
breaches of the Trade Practices Act and auditors' negligence.
She was also the instructing solicitor in a professional
negligence matter in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, alleging
professional negligence against one of Australia's leading law
firms.
Law is Christine's second career, having spent the first 10
years of her working life as a teacher. Christine studied law
through the Legal Practitioners Admission Board whilst working full
time. She has also worked and lived in England.
Christine is committed to furthering the social justice ideals of
the firm and has been heading up the Corporate Social Justice
project in Sydney.
