Melissa Knapic is a Lawyer in the Road Accident Injuries
department at Maurice Blackburn. Melissa assists clients who
have suffered injuries resulting from a transport accident to
understand their entitlements and access benefits and compensation
under the TAC system. She is based in the Sunshine office
and also assists clients at our Melton visiting office.
Having previously completed a Bachelor of Legal Studies and a
Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Studies at La Trobe University,
Melissa returned to university and graduated with a Bachelor of
Laws (Graduate Entry) with Honours from Charles Darwin
University.
Melissa first joined Maurice Blackburn in February 2005 working
in the Major Projects Department as a legal assistant. She
undertook her traineeship in 2008 and was admitted to practice in
2009 and to the High Court in 2010.
Outside of work, Melissa volunteers at the Brimbank Melton
Community Legal Centre. She is the
representative for the Western Suburbs of the Regional &
Suburban Young Lawyers Committee of the Law Institute of Victoria
and the Young Lawyers Representative of the Western Suburbs Law
Association. She is a committee member of our firm's
Women's Law Section and Indigenous Equality and Rights Committee
and a member of the Australian Lawyers' Alliance and Victorian
Women Lawyers. She is also a founding donor of Lawyers
Beyond Borders.
